Spiti Valley Expedition (7 Nights / 8 Days)
Day 1: Arrival in Shimla / Narkanda
Your Spiti Valley expedition begins as you arrive in Shimla or Narkanda. Check into the hotel, relax and enjoy the cool mountain vibes. Later you can explore local surroundings, apple orchards or nearby viewpoints. Dinner and overnight stay at Shimla/Narkanda.
Day 2: Narkanda to Chitkul / Sangla
After breakfast, the drive takes you towards the beautiful Sangla Valley. On the way enjoy scenic views of the Baspa River, mountains and forests. Visit Chitkul – the last Indian village near the Indo-Tibetan border. Spend some time at the riverside before heading to your stay in Sangla/Kalpa for dinner and overnight rest.
Day 3: Sangla/Kalpa to Nako – Giu – Tabo
Today the route enters the true Spiti region. Drive through Kinnaur, visit Nako Lake and the peaceful Nako Monastery. Later stop at the famous Giu Mummy Temple. By evening, reach Tabo – known as “Ajanta of the Himalayas.” Check-in, have dinner and enjoy a calm night stay.
Day 4: Tabo to Dhankar – Pin Valley – Kaza
After breakfast, visit the historic Tabo Monastery and then proceed to Dhankar Monastery, beautifully located on a cliff. Continue your journey into Pin Valley, famous for wildlife, snow peaks and greenery. By evening reach Kaza, the main town of Spiti, for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Kaza Local Sightseeing (Hikkim – Komic – Langza)
This day is dedicated to exploring the highest villages in the world. Visit Langza (famous for fossils), Komic (one of the highest motorable villages) and Hikkim (home to the world’s highest post office). Enjoy stunning landscapes and photography spots throughout the day. Return to Kaza for night stay.
Day 6: Key Monastery, Kibber Village & Chicham Bridge Exploration
After breakfast visit the iconic Key Monastery, one of the most famous spiritual centers of Spiti. Then head to Kibber village and the thrilling Chicham Bridge, one of Asia’s highest suspension bridges. In the evening return to Kaza, enjoy dinner and stay overnight.
Day 7: Kaza to Chandratal Lake
Today you begin your journey towards the magical Chandratal Lake. Enjoy a bumpy but adventurous ride through Batal and Kunzum Pass. Reach Chandratal and check in to your campsite. Spend the evening near the lake enjoying the beautiful blue water and peaceful atmosphere. Dinner and overnight stay in tents under the stars.
Day 8: Chandratal to Manali Departure
After breakfast, drive through Kunzum Pass and Rohtang region towards Manali. Enjoy mesmerizing views all the way. On reaching Manali, the expedition ends with unforgettable memories of the Spiti Valley adventure.
